Straight answers.
Who is this retreat for?
+
Surfers who want more than a basic surf camp — people who love the water and also care about food, landscape, and how a place actually works. Small groups suit travelers going solo, with a partner, or with friends.
What trip lengths are available?
+
Five days ($2,997 per person) or seven days ($3,497 per person). Both include the same small-group hosting, accommodations, meals, and ground transport.
What surf level is required?
+
The primary retreat is intermediate through advanced. Break selection depends on swell, weather, ability, and safety.
Can beginners join?
+
Beginner departures may be offered when the entire group is organized around beginner instruction. We do not mix a solo beginner into an intermediate or advanced group.
Can I travel alone?
+
Yes. Many guests come solo. Five-person groups make it easy to arrive on your own and still feel part of a small crew.
What is the maximum group size?
+
Five guests, plus Brent as host.
What is included?
+
Five or seven days of hosted experience, accommodations, all meals, ground and surf transport during the retreat, trip planning, and the cultural and natural experiences listed in the itinerary.
Are flights included?
+
No. International airfare is not included.
Do I need to bring a surfboard?
+
You are welcome to bring your own. Rental availability will be confirmed before booking.
Which airport should I fly into?
+
Details will be confirmed based on your itinerary — Brent will help plan the routing.
Can I fly from Taipei to Taitung with my board?
+
Domestic flight and board policies change; we'll walk through your options during the pre-trip call.
How are surf locations selected?
+
Conditions-led. Brent scouts each morning and the group makes the call together based on swell, weather, ability, and safety.
What happens when the weather or waves change?
+
The daily sequence adapts. Flexibility is the point of a small, hosted trip — food, culture, and landscape fill the days when the ocean asks us to wait.
What are the accommodations like?
+
Modern cliffside cabins with ocean views, simple and comfortable interiors, and private bathrooms. Close to nature without asking you to camp.
Are all meals included?
+
Yes. Meals are part of the experience and part of the price.
Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
+
Let us know on your application and we'll do our best. Some rural venues have limited flexibility; we'll be honest about what's realistic.
Is travel insurance required?
+
Strongly recommended. We'll ask for confirmation before departure.
What is the cancellation policy?
+
The $1,000 deposit is transferable, not refundable, until 30 days before the retreat start date. Within 30 days of departure, the deposit is forfeited. Full terms are provided before payment.
Why do I need to speak with Brent before booking?
+
So the group works. A short call confirms fit, ability, and expectations, and gives you a chance to ask anything the site doesn't cover.
Is Taiwan safe to visit?
+
Guests should review current official travel guidance before departure. Brent will communicate any material changes affecting the trip, and guests should carry appropriate travel insurance.
Ready to talk about the trip?
